Are new definitions of nutrient density emerging?
But we are sticking to the tried and tested measures of minerals, vitamins, amino acids, etc. used by Health Authorities globally. In Australia, we use these Authorities :
Both have recently increased their data from 37 to 51 nutrients, deemed 'essential' for healthy living, feeling better and living longer, to be consistent with global Health Authorities.
The other important aspect of nutrient density definition is that we need to be consistent with generally accepted definitions used in measuring soils and produce. If one re-invents the definition of nutrient density, then must do likewise for all 3 aspects - soil, produce and human health.
